Eine Schadsoftware ist in Peru aufgetaucht. Dort hat sie etwa 10.000 AutoCAD-Pläne kopiert und an eine chinesische E-Mail-Adresse versandt. Der Wurm nennt sich, laut der Antivirus-Firma ESET, ACAD/Medre.A. Ein Sprecher von ESET:

The high number of infections observed in Peru might also be explained by the fact that malware disguised as AutoCAD files may have been distributed to companies that were conducting business with public services in Peru. This leads us to think organisations in this country might have been the primary target of the ACAD/Medre.A operators.

Righard Zwienenberg Senior Forscher bei ESET:

After some configuration, ACAD/Medre.A sends opened AutoCAD drawings by email to a recipient with an email account at the Chinese 163.com internet provider. It will try to do this using 22 other accounts at 163.com and 21 accounts at qq.com, another Chinese internet provider.

Die Schadsoftware versendet jede neu gespeicherte Version der Pläne. ACAD/Medre.A ist eine ernsthafte Bedrohung. Einige Exemplare des industriellen Spionage-Wurms sind auch schon im restlichen Lateinamerika gefunden worden.
